Calgary –
TC Energy Corp. said it had recovered nearly 2,600 barrels of oil and water from a creek after a leak on its Keystone pipeline last week.
Vacuum trucks and crews worked around the clock to set up multiple booms downstream of the release point to contain the oil, the company said.
TC Energy said the oil had not breached the containment zone.
Last week, the company’s Keystone pipeline suffered the worst spill in history, spilling about 14,000 barrels of oil into a creek in Washington County, Kansas.
The Keystone piping system remains closed and a restart date has not been set.
The company said it would work with regulators to conduct a full investigation into the cause of the leak.
